This file will contain the changes or revisions to the Dark Castle game
and will serve as a quick guide to SysOps in setting up game upgrades.
Whats New in V6.0 of Dark Castle?
---------------------------------
(1) Play upgrade - more ANSI screens added
(2) Game more randomized as to play scenerio's.
(3) Additional BBS caller file/type support.
(4) BIOS and DIRECT screen write routines.
a. BIOS will make calls to resident ANSI driver installed, i.e. ANSI.SYS
b. DIRECT will write directly to screen for fast writes.
(5) Expanded support in the SETUP.EXE program for quick setup.
(6) Color bulletin is no longer 'animated' and will not get "split-up" by
a 23 line "more?" trigger.
(7) Expanded 'help' screen and improved keyboard interface for commands.
(8) You still have to 'escape' the Castle in order to be "recorded" on the
scoreboard.
Ver 6.1 Update
--------------
(1) Added Registered user info fields into DCASTLE.CFG to eliminate the
need for a separate ".key" file. Although the game will still look
in the current directory for "DCASTLE.KEY" if the information is not
in the DCASTLE.CFG file. Entering your registered Name and serial
number into the .CFG file will skip the disk check for the .Key to
auto-register the game.
For those who have previously registered earlier versions of this
game and you do not have a ".key" file or know your serial number,
you can contact me via Email on my BBS and I will give you the info
needed to enter into SETUP to register once you've downloaded this
game upgrade.
Configuration file name/setup slightly changed to support from 1-99
nodes under Novell networks. Now command line switch supports this
via /NODE1 through /NODE99. Although the SETUP program still only
sets 'multinode' operations from nodes 1-4, you can directly edit
the configuration filenames from SUPRIG1.CFG through SUPRIG99.CFG
If you are upgrading from previous versions (ie 4.0 and below) you
can run setup to enter your BBS config directly or run the latest
SETUP.EXE program and enter the required information. Version 4.0
users need only rename their SUPERIGx.CFG for nodes 1-4 by dropping
the "E" in the configuration filename, to SUPRIGxx.CFG where the
"xx" is a number between 1 and 99.
Ver 6.2 Update
--------------
Dungeon screen added for first time visit. Also tweaked up a few
color screens and optimized them.
Ver 7.0 Update
--------------
Added the 'missing' element to the game theme... a dragon! Step
into the wrong area and 'poof', you are crisp bacon!
Also, now you can SAVE your game play (registered option) exactly
where you are to resume the game at a future time.
Enhanced the "leave" option, as now you can choose what you wish to
leave instead of automatically dropping the object you've been
carrying to long. If though, you carry to MUCH, you'll automatically
drop what you have been carrying the longest.
All ANSI screens have been 'optimized' for smallest size possible for
fastest transmission times.
Ver 7.1 Update
--------------
Glitch in "Local" RBBS com port decoding fixed.
Ver 7.2 Update
--------------
Added command line support for WWIV v4.07 and up BBS's.
